John Verrico has lived more lives than most people schedule on a
calendar: journalist, stand-up comic, janitor, theater performer,
electronics technician, short-order cook, disco dance instructor, and
public affairs specialist. With more than 42 years as a public affairs
professional in military, federal, and state government agencies, John
is an internationally recognized expert in media, community, and
employee relations. He is a retired Navy Master Chief Journalist and
former President of the National Association of Government
Communicators (NAGC). He currently serves as Chief of Media and
Community Relations for the Science and Technology Directorate
at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
As founder of Share Your Fire, LLC, John is a high-energy, humorous,
and thought-provoking international speaker, leadership coach, and
trainer specializing in communication, motivation, resilience, and
balance. He developed his signature T.O.R.C.H. framework (Trust,
Opportunity, Respect, Communication, Humanity), giving individuals and
organizations a practical way to keep their inner fire lit and share
it with others. He earned a Master’s in Organizational
Leadership from Norwich University and a Bachelor’s in
Communication from the University of the State of New York. A
Certified John Maxwell Trainer, he was named 2015 Best Youth
Motivational Speaker in Washington, DC.
